During this 3 day workshop, we will explore the many facets of perceptual colour in painting from life. We will try to entangle some of the confusing aspects of colour and how it relates to painting in oils. We will cover all things related to the optical experience of colour as well as the practical challenges of translating into pigments. Both indoor and outdoor garden studies will be possible if weather allows. Topics such as colour theory, palette organization and mixing of colour, historical and modern palettes, colour relationships and many more will be discussed. Join us to have your myths about colour dispelled and fresh insights gained! Bring your most vibrant colours, bring your dullest colours and prepare your toughest questions and I will try to answer them all!
The class will be divided between lecture demonstrations and individual one-on-one feedback from life. Beginner through advanced students are welcome.
